2023 has been off to a hot start for the boy in the two worlds of Hunters past time life. Sport Gambling and Watching Movies. I have two statiscitcs that I’d say I’m half proud half disappointed with myself in, and I’m curious to think which one is more impressive and or concerning to people other then myself. I have screenshots to prove both of these, get at me if you don’t believe it. Im quite passionate about both of these things, I seriously love them both so much and want to work hard in these worlds, but also understand to keep it lighthearted at times and not be a fucking hardo. Both of these stats have been completely recorded over the past 86 days, since the start of 2023 and are a great representation of how I spend some of my past time;
$10,055 Total Wagers, $10,988 Total Return on my main Gambling platform
vs
101 full length feature films watched
Starting with the sports, yes I was sort of blown away realizing Ive wagered pretty much 10 grand over the past three months. Let’s call it how it is, Im borderline up a grand over that time, having futures placed and bets pending on games tonight. I’ll take that. A thousand dollars is pretty decent to me at this time in my life. This better not fucking jinx shit, but +$1000 is like, fairly impressive and Im proud about it, as gambling really is just a complete and total losing world. The number that is more important is the $10 000 total wagered. Pretty fucked. Thats an average of gambling $116 dollars a day for 86 days straight. Thats defiantly a bit concerning, before checking my account history out, if you told me about someone who gambled $116 dollars a day for 86 days straight, I would proceed to call them pretty addicted. Hey but not me though Im good right? I would still be doing this nightly even if I was down by the amount that Im up over the past 86 days. I can go on a run of missing fifty straight bets, but it won’t shake me from playing that fifty first bet. I honestly love this game too much to ever quit. Im on everything, you name the sport; I bet on it. Its completely ruined watching sports and fandom for me, but it is what it is. Im here in too deep now, I just seriously love it. Its crazy, but my goal for the end of the year is to still be up positive, hopefully still around that +$1000 or more area. Really hope this didn’t fuck me over jinxing it but it probably already has writing this.
Ive been doing it for quite some time now, but I have a pretty efficient, clean and honest way of churning out movies consistently. I don’t ever watch no bullshit. I don’t watch no comfort shows or seriously any bullshit. If I watch something, Im watching something that I deem to be productive to my so called film “whatever it leads to be” career in any way shape or form. I watch movies efficiently, in various different spots and at various different times, to keep things fresh and never allow my movie watching to get stale. Since the start of 2023, Im currently at 101 movies this year, which is at a rate of about 1.174 movies a day. To an everyday movie person that may not seem like a lot, just about one a day but that number, three months in, is definitely more than a good portion of people watch in a whole year. It does take a lot of my spare time, as it seems I never have enough time to watch the movies that I want. I just love it so much as well, I have so much fun. Of course all movies are different, as some of these Ive watched have been a breezy 90 minutes or a hefty 3 hours. It all plays apart into it, how many I can turn out in a week. I also always always have finish them, I could never log anything onto Letterboxd without completing and watching every minute of it, no matter how painful some of them many be. It’s crazy, but my goal for the year is to still have an average of over 1 movie a day. 365 movies in a year, I think I have a chance at doing it. The only problem and main deciding factor being the long hours I put into working during the summer takes so much out of my spare time. Theres definitely a chance and Id be proud of myself If I hit that goal.
With all that said Im curious to know which people believe is more impressive and or concerning. Its a coin toss for me, and Im going to continue to gamble hard and churn out watching movies, both as much as I can until the summer and I start working everyday again taking up most my time. Very excited to see where I can take both of these numbers throughout 2023.
