I’m currently writing this as the season opener game between the chiefs and lions is about to take place tonight. The ringing Super Bowl champs at home against my unfortunate favourite team, the Detroit Lions. Hoping for what should be a great game to kick it off right. I just moved into my apartment and Montreal and have been looking forward to this particular Thursday night for quite some time. I have so much I want to say about this year’s NFL season. I have never been this ramped up before. Let’s go. 

First off lets run through my division winners and wildcards for each conference;

(In order of Record)

AFC: Bills, Ravens, Chiefs, Jaguars; Chargers, Bengals, Jets

NFC: Eagles, 49ers, Vikings, Saints; Lions, Cowboys, Seahawks

Superbowl: Eagles Ravens

Yes I have Eagles Ravens as my superbowl because thats my dream scenario and it would just be so fucking sick. Dirty Birds Bowl. Lamar vs Jalen. Dogs everywhere on the field. All I ask for from a Super Bowl, literally all I ask is give me a sick jersey matchup and this one could land pretty hard.

AFC

Gonna be a sick year. The AFC is lethal. I’d say the dolphins, who I don’t even have making the playoffs here, would be a top 4 team in the NFC, such a shame but that’s how it goes. I also think the Bills gotta get something serious done sooner or later, so If they won it all this year, I wouldn’t be surprised. I think Cinicanti takes a little step back this year, tough division and loses early in the playoffs. I think the Chiefs rip through the regular season, and then take a surprising loss during the playoffs, but then again if they won the superbowl, I guess it would make sense?  I think the chargers take a massive leap this year, they need to get over the chiefs hump and once they do… look out, that team is fucking scary.

Uh, I also like the Broncos? They had a serious idiot at HC last year and Sean Payton is one of the better HCs in the whole league. I wouldn’t be surprised if they figured it out and got themselves into the playoffs. The jets are an exciting team too. I’m really pumped to see how they do, they have a lot of guys that I like and how Aaron Rodgers does in New York is going to really affect how a lot of people look back on his career, for better or for worse. Also Excited to watch the Texans and Colts, because of the rookie QBs. Fuck the jaguars. All I know is whoever gets into the playoffs on the AFC side, has a legitimate chance to win the superbowl, I wouldn’t count out any of those teams. The conference Championship really could be fucking anyone. The more I think of it…is it the Bills year? Am I overlooking the chiefs cause it’s too boring? Oh brother this is going to be good.

NFC (North) 

So much weaker than the AFC. I’ll tell you right now the conference championship is going to be Eagles 49ers. No surprises here. The Eagles lost both Coordinators which scares me and if it were anyone else I would be going the opposite way here, but I just think the eagles are too fucking good. East is Eagles, West is 9ers,  South who gives a fuck and OOH Baby am I fucking excited about the god damn NFC North baby. 

    Man sign me up for every single matchup between these teams in the North. I guess really any of these teams could win it? My pick is that I think the vikings are going to dominate it though? They sort of made it through easy last year and I sort of like what they are capable of on offense. The bears are going to be exciting as fuck, reports saying Justin Fields  and DJ Moore are best fucking friends. The Packers are going to be exciting because who knows anything about Jordan Love and quite frankly the Packers just cant be bad because when have the packers ever been bad? And are the Detroit Mother Fucking lions are going to suprise the whole world (even though they are betting favorites, they will just be surprising true lions fans) and win the damn division, or go 5-12 and let everyone down? You seriously never fucking know. Are the lions good at all? Are they great? Are they serious? Was the end of last year a fluke? I don’t know I want to cry, I just want to know! You don’t know anything about this division right now and that’s why it’s so exciting. Which of these four QBs is top dog? Who’s gonna come out to a hot start? Are any of these teams playoffs built? Holy fuck I am so ready. 

Futures

(In Order of Most Excitement) 

Micah Parsons DPOY $1035 – He is going to wreak havoc upon the league this year. Only a matter of time until he gets one. This should be the year. He is him. He is a fucking wild animal. Wild animals get DPOY. It’s Micahs year. 

Eagles Superbowl $1200 – They got there with ease last year. Cake walked through everyone and gave the chiefs a hell of a game. They seem extremely motivated. They have the hungriest human on the planet at quarterback. Oh and they also maybe got the best player in this year’s draft? The strongest O-line in the league and weapons everywhere else on the field. I see them getting back to the superbowl, it all just depends who they are up against. 

Josh Allen MVP $722.5 – Hes gotta get one sooner or later right? Josh Allen is a league MVP Quarterback. Josh Allen has all the intangibles to be the NFLs MVP, he’s been close before but has never outshined Pat. Josh’s time is now. Two terrible playoff losses the past two years. Go hard during the regular season Josh and win YOUR MVP. 

Eagles/Vikings Parlay Division Winners $343.75  – Pretty Fucking confident in this. I can’t believe the Vikings are +275 to win the division. Amazing Value. The only threat here really is the Cowboys or the Lions? Who I’m not really concerned about when it comes to clinching a division. Eagles and Vikings will remain top dogs for not only this year, but maybe the next too. 

Will Anderson / CJ Stroud DROY OROY Parlay $708.75 – The Jets did it last year. ROYS from the same team. Could easily see this happen again if the Texans finished close to .500 this year. Second and Third overall picks. These guys are dogs. Demeco Ryans get these boys right. 

T.J Watt Sack Leader $440 – He saw how much Nick just got paid. This is a guy who before last year led the league in sacks back to back years in 21 and 20 and got 22.5 sacks in 21. This also sort of hedges the Parsons DPOY but whatever. I’ll be fired up everytime TJ gets a sack, which hopefully and should be often. 

Ravens Super Bowl $1575 – Who remembers when Lamar promised the Ravens a superbowl on draft night? Cause this might be the year. I mean that’s happening at some point right? Seems like the most weapons he’s ever had. Lamar just got paid and he really got something to prove. I sort of rock with there defense pretty hard and I just love rooting for the fucking ravens. Only thing is their tough division and the threats in the AFC.

Chargers Super Bowl $1690 – As soon as I placed this I sort of regretted it and wished I had done Herbert MVP. Oh well. Go chargers I guess. This is crazy to say but I hope they lose both regular season games to the chiefs, and then meet them and beat them in the playoffs. I know that’s actually crazy but I can picture it now. The AFC is just so tough but I expect a huge year from the chargers. I think in a “who’s got more dogs” off the chargers could go up against almost anyone. I’m just not so sure about the HC. 

Chase Young Comeback player of the year $725 – Played 3 games last year all hurt. 0 sacks. Did absolutely nothing. Former Second overall pick and DROY. If he wants to revive his career it’s almost now or never for him. If he actually is a great player and does have a Pro Bowl Type of season, he should win this award based on how terrible he was last year and even the year prior as well. It’s absolutely absurd that Damar Hamlin is -800 to win this award. I’m sorry, is he going to start or do anything for the bills? Is that fucked to say? Yeah happy he didn’t die okay but is he good? 

Lamar Jackson OPOY $460 – Bet on my guys. Rock with my guys. Skin in the game.

Justin Field OPOY $460 – If the speculation is true of him having a “Jalen Hurts” or “Lamar Jackson” type leap, this award is his right?

Dynasty

   Lastly, the main reason I am this excited about this year’s NFL year is because of a new 12 person PPR dynasty fantasy football league I’m in. I’ve never been in a league quite this serious, nor have I ever experienced a dynasty type of league. Its fucking awesome man. Ive been thinking about my team for literally the whole summer and I have what I believe to be one of if not the best teams in the league. Me and Bret legit barked almost everyday for the past three months waiting and dying of thirst for the season to start. I am so dialed for my squad. Im seriously so gassed to root for these boys harder then ever. Everyone fantasy season prior to this one has never had this much gas or juice to it, and im just pumped to stay dialed and see how the cards in the league fall. I fucking love keeping your guys. I want to die with my guys man. I don’t want to feel this connection rooting for them year long and then have someone else pick them next year. 

My boys are hard, Yes. My boys are dawgs. In order of dog level, some dogs on my team at the moment are Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Travis Kelce, DK Metcalf, DJ Moore, Najee Harris, Joe Mixon, Keenen Allen and sadly Jonathn Taylor. Pretty good win now team hey? I also got rid of all my fucking picks (uh oh?) and Im a fan of all those guys and especially what they can do for me this year. Hurts is going to fuck even harder. Lamar almost is in an, okay seriously prove it now year. Travis puts me a leg up in any match just having a TE who’s by far better than anyone else’s. I expect big things from DK and DJ, hopefully one of them if not both can go off and finish as a top WR10.

My RBs Im okay with, Najee harris I hope bounces back with a better steelers team this year, hopefully Mixon keeps his redzone share on that potent offence and Jonathan fucking Taylor just better play football this year, I don’t really care where. I’m so excited to watch Eagles and Ravens games to watch Jalen and Lamar. Seriously couldn’t pick two other QBs I’d rather watch for fantasy (maybe Josh Allen). I’m so high on DJ Moore, like higher than anyone else on the planet. Hope DK has a year that puts him into the upper echelon of WRs. Well see. The main priority is just to stay healthy. Please god Keep my boys healthy and we should be straight. I want to win this year. Hopefully my team beats deans in the finals. Shoutout to deans squad, half of the guys I originally drafted. Few OGs to the Named Team. Let it rip
